Actually finished
Not a prototype or a vertical slice. It has been installed from an APK and played from the beginning to the end.
what I'm building / Cluster Alpaca
A finished mobile game, playable start to finish on Android right now. The code is platform agnostic, so iOS is a build rather than a rewrite. What is left is testing and store paperwork, not development.
Why it's interesting
Not a prototype or a vertical slice. It has been installed from an APK and played from the beginning to the end.
Platform agnostic code, so iOS is a build rather than a port. Only Android has been tested so far, and the Apple developer account is already paid up ready to change that.
How I built it
This one is the counterweight to everything else on the site. The infrastructure and AI projects are open-ended by nature, and a game that is done is a useful reminder that some things can just be finished and shipped.
The remaining distance is administrative, not technical, and it is a genuinely different kind of work: store listings, screenshots at seven required sizes, age ratings, privacy declarations. Worth knowing before anyone assumes shipping a mobile game is the same as building one.

About this one
Yes. Not a prototype or a vertical slice - it has been installed from an APK and played from the beginning to the end.
The code is platform agnostic, so iOS is a build rather than a rewrite, and the developer account is already paid up. What is left there is testing and store paperwork, which is a different kind of work from building it.
Installing the app from a file instead of from the Play Store. Android asks you to allow it once. It is not dangerous, it is just a step the store normally does for you.
